Asiatek R&D lab: formulation science and innovation

Capabilities · Research & Development

The formulas you'll sell tomorrow are being stress-tested today.

In-house R&D that turns your brief into a validated, scalable formula.

Formulation science, not formula copying.

Every new product at Asiatek, whether it starts as a brand’s performance brief or our own initiative, goes through the same disciplined process: formulation from first principles against defined performance targets, iterative optimisation, stability and shelf-life testing, and material compatibility validation against real-world substrates before it ever reaches pilot production.

We source active ingredients from top-tier global chemistry companies including BASF, benchmark raw materials that define the quality ceiling, used in every formulation we produce. Our quality control lab is the same lab that validates new formulations and tests every production batch: innovation and quality control are the same discipline at different stages, not separate departments.

How a formula is built

From brief to validated formula.

1

Brief & Target Definition

Performance targets, market and substrates defined up front.

2

Candidate Formulation

First-principles formulation against the brief, not a copied reference.

3

Bench Testing

Iterative optimisation against the defined performance targets.

4

Stability & Shelf-Life Trials

Accelerated ageing and shelf-life projection in the lab.

5

Material Compatibility Validation

Tested against paint, glass, alloy, leather and fabric.

6

Pilot Batch Sign-Off

Validated formula cleared for pilot production.

Innovation capabilities

What our R&D capability actually delivers.

High-Performance Formulations

Every formulation is benchmarked against defined performance targets, not just replicated from existing references. Performance on real substrates and under real conditions is the bar.

Nano & Ceramic Technologies

Active development in nano-ceramic and hydrophobic chemistry: improving cross-link consistency in ceramic coatings and extending hydrophobic durability in glass treatments for demanding climates.

Environmentally Responsible Formulations

Lower-toxicity, more biodegradable alternatives are explored across the entire range, treated as a genuine R&D constraint, not a separate “green line” with a performance compromise attached.

OEM-Grade Performance

Products validated to perform at the standard OEM procurement teams expect: consistency batch-to-batch, material compatibility across automotive substrates, and documented performance evidence.

Lab-Tested Before Scale-Up

Stability testing, shelf-life testing, and material compatibility checks happen at prototype stage, so a formula that looks good on day one but degrades by month three gets caught here, not in the market.

Continuous Innovation

R&D runs in parallel with production. New formulation projects don't wait for a customer brief. We maintain an active pipeline of internally-initiated improvements across the product range.

Performance-Driven Chemistry

Application performance, not just lab performance: formulations are validated under real driving, climate and usage conditions relevant to the Indian market and export destinations.

How we validate before you commit

Prototype samples and real data, not just a confident pitch.

Shelf-Life Projection

24 months

Illustrative example, not a real test report.

Before any new formulation reaches commercial production, partners receive physical prototype samples and our team’s evaluation notes on expected performance trade-offs. Stability testing, shelf-life testing and material compatibility checks happen at this stage, so a formula that looks good on day one but degrades by month three gets caught in our lab, not in your customer’s hands.

Current focus areas

Where the next generation of automotive care is headed.

Nano-ceramic & hydrophobic chemistry

Improving cross-link consistency and durability in ceramic coatings, and extending hydrophobic performance in glass and rain-repellent treatments for monsoon-heavy markets.

Eco-conscious formulation

Exploring lower-toxicity, more biodegradable alternatives across our range, treated as a genuine R&D constraint, not a separate “green line” with a performance trade-off attached.

Aerosol precision manufacturing

Refining crimping and gas-charging processes for tighter regulatory compliance and consistency across high-volume aerosol runs.

Application performance, not just lab performance

Validating products under real driving, climate and usage conditions relevant to the Indian market, not only in controlled lab environments.

Eco as an innovation discipline

A genuinely green automotive care product is a harder formulation problem. We treat it as one.

Asiatek is committed to environmental sustainability throughout our manufacturing process, and we actively explore eco-friendly formulation alternatives as part of our standard R&D pipeline, not as a separate “green line.” Reducing the toxic chemical load that traditional car care products send into the environment, and reducing water usage in manufacturing, are treated as formulation challenges with the same rigour as a performance brief.

Starting with BASF-grade input chemicals means we begin from a higher baseline: formulations that are safer and more stable before we even begin the eco-optimisation pass. That combination is what most competitors in this category can’t match: performance and responsible chemistry from the same raw material source.

Have a hard formulation problem?

If your brief is genuinely difficult, that's exactly the kind of project our R&D team wants to see.
